I really have the hots for that unit. I'm really glad to hear you like it and the phono preamp is good. It would make me feel much better to purchase this than a Bada or something Chinese.

I'll be keeping my eye open for a nice gently used Unico.

I had the Bada...not to shabby of a unit really. Not in the same class as the Unico though and....it used a quad of 6DJ8's instead of the single 12AU7 in the preamp. That in itself was a huge savings regarding tube rolling options. The build quality of the Unico is better as well.

Well I have a used Unico P on it's way and should arrive tomorrow. It needed a repair, apparently someone was changing out the speakers with shutting it down first...not good. It has a clean bill of health. I have a chance to trade out my Rega Mira 3 for it so the competition will be on tomorrow night and through the weekend. Really looking forward to hearing it!

I've lived in the midwest (Illinois) and southwest (New Mexico) as well...

The Unison should be on the front porch when I get home from work in about 13 or 14 hrs...long days! I'm in the poverty business and business is good right now...unfortunately.
