thread subscription strangeness

I'm getting thread notification emails for threads I've replied to.
I haven't subscribed to them in "thread tools."
Anybody else?
Have I inadvertently checked a box somewhere in my CP?

Yep... You had automatic subscription (with email notification) turned on somehow. Should work fine now.

How do you even do that?

It's one of the options available in the user control panel, under Edit Options: Default Thread Subscription Mode...

By default, when you subscribe to a thread, under notifications, "no email notification" is selected.
Well, that's the point of subscribing, right?
So, I make sure "instant notification by email" is selected.
What was odd was that I was getting notifications for threads I hadn't subscribed to, only replied to.
Thanks for helping me find that setting!
I'm pretty sure I didn't change it, I didn't even know it was there.
