Nice cosmetic Teac A-100 cassette deck at a thrift store...could be mine for 4 bucks. Belts are likely broken, no activity when play, rw, ff are engaged.

Worth bothering with?

I have an A-100 that I bought new in 1976 or 77. It was a decent but basic performer. I am currently bringing some of my older stuff back to life after being dormant the last ten years thanks to this forum. Belts for drive portion of this deck will run $20 plus shipping. There are 2 other belts that run the counter but are funtionally not nessesary. I think i paid between $120 and $150 for the unit new. I would be interested in hearing other comments on this deck, I thought it recorded well on TDK metal tapes.

Well, if it's still there in the AM, I'll nab it for 4 bucks.

Yeah, I remember it as not being their top of the line, but at that time, Teac was king of cassette.

It does load in a kool manner...
