Actually, there is a funny part to the story. He had the accident while leaving his driveway. :scratch2: That's according to the local news here.

Actually, that is the big question of the moment. What in hell was he doing charging out of his driveway at 2:25 am??

He hit a fire hydrant and a tree. The airbags didn't deploy, so he was going less than 30 mph or so. His wife broke the back window of his Escalade to get him out. With a golf club.

He sustained minor facial injuries, was treated at the local hospital and released. The Florida Highway Patrol did not release any info about the accident until 12 hours after it happened. They ruled out alcohol, but said the investigation was continuing. Charges "could be filed". For what, nobody is saying.

He's supposed to be in the Chevron World Challenge next week, which is one of "his" golf tournaments. It'll be interesting to see if he shows up, stitches and all.

That isn't a given.

My daughter was in a wreck that came within $250 of totaling a new pickup with less than 2000 miles on it, and the air bags didn't deploy. She was run off the road, and spun and hit a concrete ditch backwards. The trigger for the bags is in the front bumper.
