My favortie 'indie' bands (i'm referring to the genre of music that has been adopted as being 'indie') are The Dears (particularly their album Gang of Losers) and The Weakerthans.

I'm about three songs into the new Yo La Tengo, "Popular Songs". So far I'm not that enthused. It just makes me want to dig out Electr-o-pura.

I love that album. It really flew in the face of a lot of what was going on in the mid-'90s. (well, If You're Feeling Sinister did....this one was a while before it saw a real release)

The "Push barman to open old wounds" collection of that great run of EPs they had after Sinister is stellar and sounds fantastic on vinyl, if you're into records.

I die for records. My paychecks (as scant as they are) go wholly towards them. It's terrible :D. That's actually what brought me here to AK. Of ocurse I would love that on vinyl, but a lot of B&S sells for big money if its an original pressing and that is not just on eBay.

I am holding out for my wife to buy this.

I kind of felt the same about I Am Not Afraid Of You... . The Today is the Day EP that came out with that is great though.
 
The Postmarks- Goodbye

Very cute song to me. Which is a weird way to describe it. The chick that sings has such a sweet voice that I have no other choice :).
