Got'cha. Then it is the Canadian called Ecology LP by the band named 25ieme Regiment that I have (I recognize/recall the cover art), and (probably) not the Ecology that Bob posted earlier.

This is the bande called Ecology that Bob posted. Name of their LP is Environment / Evolution / Ecology. This LP (@ my recollection) I do not have @ my collection.

Bob's is probably "Environment/Evolution" by the band Ecology.

Confirmed. Many (auctioned) examples of the thing @ popsike.
They were on the Happy Tiger label, which included such Psych-era stalwarts as the bands Them and Aorta.

Now I'm trying to recall "the sound" of the band 25ieme Regiment's LP entitled Ecology LP. It's off to youtube for a bit of investigatin'.
Update: found some 25ieme Regiment material @ utoob. Not Psych Folk, more like Soul/Funk Rock. Would belong @ a different thread fer sure.

you guys....sheesh! i thought i was fairly advanced in my knowledge of this genre, but i feel like a kindergartner right now. anyway, you've put me in mind of this LP i found earlier this year in a crate dig. Tarot, by Touchstone. the band included members of the Dead, Country Joe, others. it is the 'original cast mime album' of a musical walk through the houses of the Tarot, presented live at the Chelsea Theater Center. i was immediately taken with it, for production, engineering and musicianship. it is as much psych as it is folk or jazz. i love it every time i listen to it. popsike it, it sells for good $$. here's a clip
Ecology also had Val Stoecklein of The Blue Things write some of the songs on the LP. Stoeklein left The Blue Things after he was hospitalized for bipolar disorder. He had a spotty career and ended up committing suicide in 1993.

I sense I am forgettin' a bunch of other cool older acts @ this genre, the material that followed after Vashti Bunyan, Mark Fry, etc. I'm seein in my mind's eye an LP (UK-issue) with a "yellowish" background and two small figures ambiling along a road @ the cover art. What is it???? I can see it but the name(s) are obscured (read: forgotten). I remember it @ many LP trader lists under the Psych Folk category, but I am @ present unable to pull it outta the murk.

Vague memory of that cover. I'll have to think about it. I'd say Agincourt, but that had three figures walking.
I know this one very well, but no, it's not the one. I'm seeing a partial wording of the title... perhaps the the name "Simon" is included in the title of the LP....?

I have this one. Rather conceptual (French Revolution), don't know I'd classify it as Psych Folk. Not far from it but not quite there, either.

It's the Ficklin cut that won me over. I agree most of it isn't really psych.
