TPA 3116 vs the tripaths

Do you have a link for the Muses?

I've settled on a pair of MUSES8920D's in one of my Tube03's. They sound great. I also liked the LME49720NA's and LM4562NA's too. Mouser had the MUSES a couple months back. I might have an extra pair, if you can't find them, because I recently tried a pair OPA627AU's that I really like that are cheap off of the bay. I've been looking to put one of my 03's with the Amiya unit you've been discussing for my classroom.

Added the Volt+D to my main OB system driving Lowthers and Lii Audio F-15s and wow am I impressed. The dog days of August heat in S.C. resulted in the +D replacing Bottlehead mono-blocks until cooler weather prevails. I am using a Bottlehead preamp and a 12v linear regulated power supply with the Volt+D. Owning three very competitive class D amps I would rank the Volt+D and SMSL DA-9 ahead of the Aiyima A07 in SQ. But I love all three of these amazing amps. I'm convinced allo.com never came up with a high powered replacement as their prototypes fell short of the +D.

@drjohnnyfeva. Lots of counterfeits on the bay.

Do you have the seller info for the reliable one you use?

Thanks

WorldChip is the company. Apparently, assembled in Philippines, but ships from China. I was skeptical and remain so, but I have been running them in one of my Tube 03's for over a month. Sound great. They have it mislabeled as dual to mono. It's actually two singles put together to make a dual channel. Dual to Mono Op amp module OPA627AU replace NE5532 Philippines Made New

...so I'm really trying not to buy another toy, but the way you all talk about the Volt+D, I think that's going to be my classroom amp with a FX Audio Tube 06

Poultrygeist, did you swap out the opamps in the A07?

Not yet. I've hesitated because even with the rather expensive opamps I'm not sure it will come close to the Volt+D and FX tube preamp. Have you tried that combination?

No, I have not, just a TPA3116 board I built into a box, left the volume control turned full on, and powered with an Astron RS20A power supply., so that's the first one I did after the Sonic Impact that I did years earlier. That thing was pretty amazing on my Third Rethms with the Lowther DX55s...

I have the A-07 powered on 24/7 with the supplied power supply, I never turn off anything digital (which includes amps) and my Audible Illusions has been on 24/7/365 except during violent storms since I purchased it new in 1998. The Audible is the one constant that doesn't change...I have a case of Yugoslavian 6DJ8s that we got from Art as falling below his stringent specifications, but with the addition of Pearl Tube Coolers these tubes sound great and last quite well...I'll think about changing them every now and then but I'll go several months in between, I don't change because I have to, but just to see what fresh tubes will do...usually it just kind of "freshens" up the sound a little bit.

I do not feel as if I have loss any SQ from trading out my ModWright KWA-100SE for the A-07 and the heat load during these hot south Texas summers is reduced, to say I like the little amp is an understatement.

Being on a fixed income and just working part-time when I can means buying a lot of things to experiment with is no longer in the cards for me as current economic conditions and recent egregious price increases on everything from utilities, to fuel, to insurance strain my meager resources...

I'll really know how I feel about the little amp when we get our second season, Not Summer, (we only have two seasons down here: Summer and Not Summer) and I put the Mac MC240 in place of it...

A few hours ago I fronted the Aiyima A07 with the FX Audio Tube-01 for some added lushness in my near-field system. Diana Krall's voice can be a bit edgy/raspy in the upper registers but the 01 adds some nice tube smoothness. This is nice improvement over the SQ I was getting before with the A07. The Mark Audio drivers in the Frugal Horns are very revealing and it's easy to notice a change especially when it's for the better. The wooden box attached to the A07 stores its power supply and keeps it from falling off the table. I really appreciate the powerful signal the A07 sends to the sub from its pre-out.

What pre-out from the A-07? I thought it only had speaker ouputs for stereo speakers?

Hello all! I have Marantz 2230 receiver and Harman Kardon HK680 integrated amp. Reading about this new stuff like SMSL DA-9, SMSL AO100 and AO200 amps thinking how compares vintage versus new if the sound quality is the most important criterium?

vrobec, my experience is with this nice old Marantz which I keep for nostalgic reasons. Any of those you mentioned IMO would be a step up.
