trhee's Food Porn...

Best wishes to all of you - the Ambassador, his family and the staff as well. While it sounds like he will be OK with some medical attention, it has to be unsettling to all of you.

Alan

A speedy recovery for Ambassador Lippert, that gash to his face looks pretty nasty. Not much you can do about the crazies in this world except try to limit your exposure to them. Please extend our country's best wishes to the Ambassador & his family.

Just a quick update. The Ambassador is to be released from the hospital Tuesday morning here.

He got the outer stitches removed from his face and the stitches from his arm is to be removed in the morning. He required 3 layers of stitches due to the deepness of the cut. The inner 2 layers of stitches are of the dissolving kind.

Anyways, we have a dinner event tomorrow but it's still undecided whether he will sit in on the event or will have a proxy at the event.

Stitches out already? That seems kinda soon. The last time I got stitched up they were in for an entire week.

.....that incident made the top 40 on the AOL News page, Trhee, and was up about fourth or so....I had no idea at the time he was the ambassador you cook for....tough stuff going on around you....you might want to consider wearing a large button that says, "I'm A Cook"....seriously.....

We were all kind of surprised but at the time, we didn't know he had three layers of stitches. Only the outer ones were removed. Considering he had one of the top plastic surgeons work on him along with around the clock care for 5 days, I just gotta think they know what they're doing.

I'm tempted to get a T-shirt printed up that says "Hey, I just cook for the guy..."

I would expect he got the best care available, and do not doubt they know their stuff. But doggone, it would have been nice to have gotten mine out that soon.

At the moment, nothing. 3:18am right now. :D

Been doing some blogging, keeping up with various forums and post processing some photos taken over the weekend for the past few hours before I go to bed.

Hi Chef. What's cookin'?

Here ya go. Just a simple personal meal. Nothing fancy.

"Filet Mignon w/ Roasted Vegetables"

The beef tenderloin was seared hard and roasted for about 3 hours at 180°F, rested for 15 minutes. The vegetables were sautéed individually, then roasted separately and before plating, quickly sautéed again with a little butter. Seasoned with kosher salt, cracked pepper, cumin and curry.

Thanks. No favorite dish to make particularly. Cooking is cooking, just different styles and techniques with different dishes.

Brussels sprouts with the tenderloin? Yum.

Well, yum to all of it, but I love Brussels sprouts. Bonus point for using them.

I love brussels sprouts. They get an unjustifiable bad rap but I think it comes from people who've only eaten under-seasoned, poorly cooked ones.

Looks great. Glad to see you posting pictures in this thread again. Brussel sprouts with curry is my favorite way to make them.

Oh come on trhee. Your killing me. That looks so good. I'm doing the foodwishes.com chef John's beef stogenoff. Came out really good. I and my gf love Brussels sprouts cooked many different ways too. I have to try the searing of them next time topped with butter. Well its about Thanksgiving and you can just imagine where my mind is with food. Take care and be safe.
