Tuners?

I only have one

I rarely listen to my tuner. I have a Magnum Dynalab FT101A Etude. It was my very first purchase with the very first credit card I ever had. Sounds great, don't regret the purchase either.:thmbsp:

Hi,

I have a REL Precedent, HH Scott 312D, 4310, and 4312, and my McIntosh receivers tuner sections for tuners. I have another HH Scott 312D on the way from a friend.

Gee, life is tough. Having to put up with the likes of Precedent, a 4310, and a 4312 plus a couple or so Mc receivers but, someone has to suffer through it ;).

Scott Lt-110 and even though it's a receiver, my H-K 330B has a really nice
tuner in it, especially the AM section.

Tuners

Here is my list of current tuners:

Onkyo T-9 (2) (these are awesome!)
Onkyo T-4
Onkyo T-4070
Marantz 2120 -great when working
Marantz 2100 (2) (these are in the kids rooms)
Kenwood KT-8300 (tied with my Onkyo T-9's as the best)

I have six component tuners, all of them Dynaco. My AF-6, two FM-5s and three FM-3s are all gathering dust in the basement. There's only one station in the Detroit area that broadcasts the classical music I like, and it uses so much dynamic compression that it's unlistenable on a good system.

I also have three working receivers with AM/FM tuners -- a Pioneer SX-880, a Harman-Kardon 330c and a Realistic STA-18B.

...Onkyo T-9 (2) (these are awesome!)...

Agreed. My T-9 has bested some very highly regarded tuners, at least for ability to bring in clean signal in great fidelity with a crappy antenna...

The T-9 is one of the best under the radar analog tuners out there, IMO.

I've got a Magnum Dynalab FT101A, and it sounds great.

Detroit Public radio sounds pretty good. Which radio stations do you guys like in the Detroit - Windsor area?

There are at least four great FM stations in the Los Angeles area, located between 88.1 and 91.5. I depend on these for a variety of music that I'd never have a chance to hear without these stations. I receive FM broadcasts on my Yamaha tuners, T-1020, T-80 and CD-like sound on one of my two TX-1000. I also have a nice NAD, I think it's a 4225. I wish I were technically saavy so I can DX them like I've read about on FMTuner.com. Right now I'm listening to KKJZ jazz station on some newly acquired RSL Speedscreens. Chow.

send the tx1000's off to a tech, like mike williams (punker x on this forum), & change those tunas to "winyl-like" sound, instead of "cd-like sound", w/better dx-ing, to boot! :D

Not the full collection, but probably the nicest stack I have put together. From the top:

Sony ST-5130
Luxman T-4
Proton 440
Yamaha CT-1010
Mitsubishi DA-F20
Kenwood KT-8007

I've seen those Monteverdi receivers a number of times at thrifts. From what I can gather, they are of MCS mid-level quality. Looks interesting. 3 or 4 gang FM tuner? sometimes gangs like in the middle of yours are tied together, i'd be curious to know if there is just one filter or multiples in there?

Theres just one filter, and its a 6 gang tuner.

Weither Its mid quality or not I dont care it looks cool, and works for me.

When speaking of gangs, you need to seperate AM and FM gangs for comparison purposes. In this case, if the two middle gangs are tied together, it's a 4 gang FM (smaller gangs) and 2 gang AM.

Interesting enough receiver. Enjoy.

Sanyo T55- a sleeper I'm very happy to own...I've a couple others, including a nad... this one definitely a keeper!!
