Tuners?

Analog Tuners will there always be programming?

With the advent of HD and internet radio, will the analog tuners ever become obsolete?

Fisher KM-60
Marantz 20B
Carver TX11

If anyone feels they have an extra Marantz 10B, 120, or 150 donations are greatly appreciated.

Ozzie, I've had a few AF-6 Dynaco tuners and the AM on every one of them was strictly local station pickup capable only. C.C. Crane makes some interesting AM antennas. I've never tried them as I have a couple of AM tuners that are good DX'ers with their internal antennas.

A tuner is an adjustable device which passes one radio frequency, or band of frequencies, and excludes others, by using electrical resonance. A tuner performs the process of selecting the desired signal but it's output is not directly usable and must be sent to another device. Typically tuners are sold with built-in audio amplifiers, loudspeakers, and/or a video display to form a radio receiver or television set. Tuners can be either stereo or mono, and are available for TV, FM, AM, and other types of radio signals.

Hello,

here´s a picture of my favorite Tuner:

it´s an Onyko Integra T-411(4011/Europe) from 1974 (xxx-rare).
The price for a new one was 200,000Yen in 1974,...not cheap!
I found only a few informations of this tuner in the internet (japanese webside)

best regards

Timo, from Germany

Here is my actual list of tuners:

DENON TU-850 (with PMA-830)
KENWOOD KT-8155
PIONEER TX-7800
HITACHI FT-8000 (with HA-8700)
YAMAHA T-7 this one with BIG problems. Does anybody of you guys have a SM with good scans for this beauty?

LIX

Currently, my collection includes:

Fisher FM-1000 (tube)
Fisher TFM-300 (hybrid tube/solid state)
McIntosh MR67 (tube)
2 McIntosh MR65Bs (tube)
McIntosh MR7082 (solid state)
Pioneer TX-130 (solid state)
Pioneer TX-410 (solid state)

Thought I'd add mine to the mix.

Revox B760 (recent addition to the main stereo)
Magnum Dynalab FT-11 (currently in office w/headphone amp)
NAD 4225 (garage stereo)

The great thing about the Revox is it has a headphone jack w/volume control.

Now Playing: Nikko FAM-800

I replaced the incandescent lighting behind the dial and meters with a strip of LED's. Near perfect fit!

I have settled on Revox and worked up the line to the B 260-S.

I happy with it and look no further.

I have sold all the others.

Next is maybe getting a bigger and higher antenna.
