TT shelf

I don't know about this.
How much does your TT weigh? Does this SECURELY support that weight?
I know a wall mount works better in some situations but I would prefer some underneath supports with possibly a 2 x 2 angle support (cripples) at 2 places. I also would like to see the mounting secured with large wood screws or lag bolts into studs in the wall.
That's just my opinion. Those expansion lags might not be enough.
My policy on these shelves is figure the weight of your item and use mounting devices that are double what you need.
I installed a similar shelf for a client for her printed(heavy) and it is working fine. But the printer is not sensitive to vibration.

Looks ok but I'd have reservations re the shelf not being screwed into the wall studs. An option would be to attach a lateral board to the wall studs and then screw the shelf onto the board. There still isn't any bracing under the shelf which may not make the shelf secure from vibration. To be honest I'd pass on this and get two angle brackets and a piece of MDF as in Arcorobs DIY shelf which shouldn't cost much if any more and be confident that it will work being attached to the wall studs with screws. If your going to do it do it right and not half steps. And if your concerned with appearance Arcorobs wall shelf looks terrific as he installed it.
 
It should work. I had some ikea shelves that hung in a similar manner. They held a lot of weight, but the didn't sit perfectly level from front to back. That might be your biggest issue. Plus, if you accidentally put too much pressure on it, it'll give/break before a traditional L-bracket shelf will. But, yeah, it should work to hold a player.
 
Agree it will hold the turntable and the weight limit of 40 pounds is just adequate but that's about all it has going for it. Arcorobs DIY wall shelf is the way I would do it if I already didn't have Target wall shelves that have even more bracing than Arcorobs DIY wall shelf. Do more research re wall shelves with people who have been there and done it.
 
Target 2 shelf wall rack. I have one of these and attached it to the wall studs using lag screws. It will comfortably support ~80 lbs on the top shelf and 40 on the bottom shelf. I had a 95 lb amp on the top shelf for a while.

Target wall shelves/racks were mfg in England, not sure if they are still being imported, prices went way up on more recent models. Mark Bs two shelf unit is an excellent example, they also made single shelves. I have two large single Target wall shelves that will hold at least 100 pounds and one standard size Target shelf I have in storage. Another UK company Sound Organization also mfg wall shelves, I also use one of these . If you can find any of these wall shelves used I doubt they will be cheap. The microwave shelf might just work out and the price is right, again it needs to be screwed into the wall studs to be effective.

The 2 suggestions about a TT shelf is more like it. Must support and keep vibration down. I know the slim shelf looks good but nothing like coming home some day and seeing your TT on the floor with damage.

I built this shelf with a pair of silver brackets from Home Depot, some oak for trim, and a piece of an old Hammond organ I scrapped.
