Hmmm, looks like Phillips/Rectilinear mids and tweeters, not sure on the woofer? I'd say they're worth checking out though!
I guess you nailed it @Furburger! How do they sound? At least decent I'd imagine?

I would put them in the decent category for how they sound. I enjoyed for a few weeks and plan to go back to them again for more once I am done trying out some D 5 Cerwin Vegas I just foamed.
These speakers are Avant 4A. There is a thread on AK called Avant Loudspeakers...I would attach it but I haven't mastered that just yet..lol

Oh about half those reading this thread are seeing Advent when the word is Avant.

Judging by the poor fitting woofers and ribbed cones, i'd wager that the woofers in the OP were replaced when the original foams rotted and the clueless took a leap.

But what set of woofers are the right woofers? Post 1, or post 4?

The OP's woofers are definitely wrong. @Furburger's woofers could be correct, but based on the screw positions, they've been remounted. Hopefully he'll chime in if he knows.

My speculation would be screws that engage particle board, and whoever did the re-foam chose the course of screws that would tighten evenly by virtue of new/fresh material to engage(new screw holes).
Here are my screw holes from the OP. I can't tell if they're original or not. At the end of the day, I'm OK with these either way. They sound good and have the look I was wanting. Just disappointed there is little (effectively no) info about this company. Thanks everybody for their input!

Sealed designs (as these appear to be) are a lot more accepting of a woofer swap than ported (assuming that the new woofer has similar sensitivity to the old one and it's designed for this sort of enclosure).

I am certain my woofers are original as I cleaned off the 44 year old surrounds before I foamed them. I used the original paper rings around the outside of the woofers and original screw holes. The insulation in mine was the early yellow stuff. Here is a pic of the made in USA boxes.
@jedijay I know what you mean about lack of online info for these...just nothing out there when I looked as well. At least now we are putting down some history on the Avant 4A speakers for others to find later.
