Victor JVC QL Y7 or Y5 How to verify antiskating function?

Hello,

I need to verify Victor (JVC) QL Y7 (or Y5, same mechanism) antiskating function without a blank record?

Any suggestion how to do such test?

Float tonearm above middle of record. Turn anti-skating dial and see if arm is moving towards beginning of record.

Thank you. Is it specific to Y7 with that electronic tonearm? What is the initial settings for AS and VTF?

Get the Ortofon test record, and listen for buzz/distortion. This is e very good way to confirm correct anti skate. If it buzzes first in right channel you can increase AS,if it then becomes normal try a higher level track and aim for buzzing not occuring at all or occurring equal in both channels. If you then are tracking a high value 80-100um you have a good cartridge and scan revive anti skate slightly since normal music seldom go above 60um…

I never got reliable results on a blank disk, and that method does not make any sense to me , the friction and skate force it totally different between blank and groove and force and anti skate fierce must be different.
