In "The Conjuring" movies, you can notice a lot of audio equipment, old voice recorders, gramophones, and so on.

The movie The Equalizer 2 with Denzel Washington there's a scene with an old man that's in an old folks home. He's talking about an old painting that he did years ago. Anyway, in the background you can see a Marantz receiver, turntable "Thorens"? and what look like some Thiel speakers.

About a week ago, watched "Kiss Me Deadly", a 1955 B&W Mike Hammer crime drama. Hammer lives in a Mid-Century modern apartment on L.A.`s Wilshire Blvd., complete with a reel-to-reel controlled answering machine which appears to run at around 30 ips !
Also, in "True Lies", there was an R2R among the gear in their surveillance van.
And, in the French cult film "Diva", the much sought-after bootleg opera tape was made clandestinely by the young postman, using his very cool Nagra portable R2R, concealed in his mail bag.

Btw, I noticed that old audio equipment often appears in horror movies. And I think it's cool. I liked music since I was a child and I feel nostalgic when I see a movie, for example, the radio that I had in my childhood. I remember the first time we smoked a joint with friends and started watching the horror movie The Shining on a cassette. For the word horror movies as well as cannabis helps to relieve tension and reduce stress, which has a positive effect on the body.

I'm real late to this, and apparently this is my first time watching Gremlins since I was bit by the stereo bug... but I had to check up what kit the Peltzers had in their lounge. It had to be serious stuff if it hadn't been replaced by the dad's home inventions!
The best screenshots I've been able to find online are those:

I found an eBay shot of the Marantz 2226b receiver, practically the same angle as the second picture above. That's fairly solid evidence it's that model:
That receiver was made 1976-78, some 6-8 years before the movie premiered. I think we can assume this wasn't product placement to boost sales.
Now, for the turntable I can't find a visual match on Marantz models from the same time frame. Could be I didn't dig long or deep enough. Would any hawkeyed vintage enthusiasts out there hazard a guess?

It's a brand new Wurlitzer 1015 jukebox.
I guess such an expensive machine in a small dated diner, might be "product placement," as the town is "out in the sticks" with just one main street.

It has some similar plot lines to Casablanca, but instead of Dooley Wilson playing and singing "As Time Goes By," you've Florence Marly singing, "These Foolish Things," on a 78 on this record player.

The recent K-Drama Siren's Kiss has numerous scenes featuring some very nice McIntosh equipment: tube integrated? amp, turntable and a huge Tascam? reel to reel tape deck. Not sure what the speakers are. Look for scenes featuring Kim Geum-soon as Kim Seon-ae, Chairman of Royal Auction. It's a very good drama as K-dramas go if you can tolerate watching subtitles.
