It's really cool how this thread keeps resurrecting itself periodically over years at a time. And kind of on the same theme, one of the best movies for gear-spotting is Jim Jarmusch's Only Lovers Left Alive.
Tom Hiddleston plays a depressed, guitar-playing vampire who at the time the film is set is living in a crumbling mansion in Detroit. He has a TON of vintage gear scattered around his living space, and it was a nice bonus trying to figure out what all he had in there - someone had a lot of fun decorating that set, and it's pretty easy to spot various makes of receivers/amps he has sitting around.
He also has a "familiar" who is tasked with procuring really wicked vintage guitars for him. So if you're into audio gear and axes, this is definitely a film you'll appreciate on a different level than the average viewer.
