Wow!! What a scroe, I'd say I hate you now, but I have an 800 in my shop waiting for me to have time to restore I just picked up a 61m the other day, and it weighs about 80-90lbs..a lot more than I thought it would! These fishers are heavy!

And the SAGA FINALLY End's.....for now. After High Level discussions and arbitration that would rival the Reagan/Andropov Talks in Reykjavik, D) The Executive Minus the Original 800-C arrived at Casa De FISHER! I've put my 800-C in it, and that's where it's gonna stay after the kids read the will! The speakers got recapped and the presence pots DeOxited. The Type "A" will probably be overhauled and possibly replaced with a Dual 1009. (gotta look at it).

Now to get all the other stuff outta the Living Room. But 1st give my back a chance to recuperate from a repeat of POST #9!!!!!

10:50pm. It's running and it sounds absolutely GREAT! A little muted in the Highs and high mids, compared ot a pair of Sansui SP-2500's, but not too bad. Sounds a lot better than the 800 did in the Coronet cabinet. It's got some LOW END BALLS tho! Have to turn down the bass to -3, turn OFF LOUDNESS, and occasionally invoke the Low Filter depending on what's running thru the Radio.

I fired up the Type "A" after a hot shower. Strobed it out and found it's no more than 1/2% off @ 33-1/3 rpm. The idler isn't slipping from a cold start Manual Modes shows his, but Auto Mode shows it hangs about 1/3 into the cycle. I cut a donut of small bubblewrap to mimic the rotted foam between the platter 1/2's. It works good at isolation and raises the outer platter off the chassis. Luckily I've been there before and know what and what not to do.

Also it looks like my A-4010 might be able to fit in the left hand box once I take out the shelves. I'll do some roughing out tomorrow and see how it shakes out. I don't mind it riding inside, but I prefer on a shelf or inside a cabinet.

We picked up a working Magnavox (62 or so) with P-P EL-84's in really good shape for free for Fran. It's a good 1/3 smaller than the Exec. Better fit in the house.

The 65 Grundig cabinet (water damaged last year in baseent flood) had to go. no real loss. The Coronet II cabinet is going down stairs along with the 65' CE VIII. I've got platforms built 1' off the deck so I've got a chance of saving them if the basement floods again from loss of power.

Got some individual RCA's I can install on the WS-1's. Fran is keeping the K-10. I have a Pioneer SR-202W that I can connect if i want reverb.

It's been running overnight, and the caps are opeing up a little. Probably all I'm gonna get out of them (Dayton NP Lytic's from P.E.).

I'd have to cut up the A-4010 cabinet partially to get it to fit in the hole on the Exec. NOT! One of my GX-4000D will probably fit in there. That shelf assy is a ROYAL PITA to get out. Super tight and had to wiggle it out. Well built Solid Plywood. This thing is Solid Wood. 3/4" to 1" Plywood with a fairly thick veneer. The only MDF in it are the two back spkr covers. Even the doors are solid wood. We took out the original 800-C, both back panels, and the 800 mount, and it still weighs over 200#.

Big picture is getting my work area sorted. This was just collecting dust waiting on that so now its not collecting dust.

It deserved a better fate than waiting in the Frannie Queue of horrors.

Got the Type A working but the Idler needs to be replaced. i've got a couple RC/88's with the same idler but they are worn out too. So I'll be sending 2 of them out for rebuild/replacement.

Another victory for The AK Mid-Atlantic Fisher Console Rescue Squad!

I was out last night at the My Morning Jacket show & came home to a message from Frannie - "We gotta save this one from The Flippers!"
The Flippers, of course, are the AKMAFCRS's archenemies...
PM's flew fast & furious to Larry - known to The Squad as "Captain Trailer"... and another console was conserved. I'm so happy for you, Frannie. It's gonna sound great. I think you'll find the speakers are surprisingly good, & well mated with that 800C.
But I warned you guys how heavy those Execs are. We're lucky nobody's wearing a truss.:scratch2:

I gots no problem with flippers,it's console gutters who are my arch enemy.
