Downsizing Bob?

I highly doubt a money launderer would stand for the ebay fees associated,
Ebay fee is $250 CAP'd. Comparing to $7500, it is nothing.
Someone local to me is selling a pristine pair of Altec Model 19. Finish looks great, all original components except refoamed around the horn.
What might these be worth?

I didn't have any use for the second pair![]()
So did you happen to pick up the pair near Seattle? If so, you beat me to them. I had a deal with the guy to wait until Monday when I could borrow a pickup. I offered to sent him a deposit on paypal but he said it was not needed. He sent me a note Monday morning and said they were sold
They looked like nice ones for a decent price...

That's BS.
I'd have to see the money change hands, and the speakers actually be transported before i would begin to believe that.
With maybe a rare exception, a buyer would be a total fool to pay that kind of money for a pair of Nineteens.
7500 will buy 3 mint pair, and cover most of the shipping, or scratch build two brand new pair with brand new components, and plenty of change leftover for some new upstream gear.

I'm glad you think I'm talking BS...let the facts speak for themselves.

Vintage Altec Lansing 19 Studio Monitors Hi-Fi Speakers Mint Condition
Also, it would behoove you to look at the seller and see the caliber of gear that he's sold recently.
I actually inquired to discuss how he shipped them and get additional details about another pair of rare technics speakers that he has for sale. Nice guy and definitely a legitimate sale.
He didn't sell them overnight...it took a couple months but they did sell for $7500
The Ebay ad say's "Ended" . . . . NOT "Sold" Big diff
