The true beauty of the Di'Anno era is that it provides a perfect snapshot of the band at a very specific time. The Dickinson era is of course all over the map for nearly 40 years, but Di'Anno material is a two year window in time.

It was a 70's thing down here too, GMH had a "Strike Me Pink" option in '72.

When done right, pink is a very nice car color.

Switched-On Bach is so cool. If yo try to picture music in 1968, and then picture the impact that these new algorithmic electronic sounds must have had on the listening public it's pretty mind boggling. I'd have loved to seen Keith Emerson's face when he first heard it and started to imagine how he'd use a synthesizer.

Oh, i know!! Technology was changing the way music was being made in rapid fashion! I can only imagine what it would have been like hearing something like that interpreted in such a way!
I will probably fire that one up tonight!

Hey guys, Glad to be back. My brothers wife passed on at 1:21 pm yesterday after a brutal last two weeks, and a two year fight with pancreatic cancer.. It was all hands on deck for the family the last month and almost no normal day to day concerning anything since Thanksgiving. I snuck in a round of golf when I could and thankfully had this thread and you guys to bounce off and pass alot of time.
She was just 60 years old and very loved by Kelly, so Kelly was hit especially hard on top of her losing her mother just this past April.
I'm very glad to be home and hoping for peace and tranquility for all involved. My brothers doing very well, but has been on a constant vigil for two years, and frankly he seems relieved by her not suffering anymore. He hadn't slept in 3 days going into yesterday so I made him come back with me to the Fenwick Island place last night and have a good quality dinner and try to get rested until he got up this morning. He did both.
His boys are there now so it was my cue to go home.

'X' by Def Leppard. Originally released in 2002. Been awhile since spun this. Rick Allen did much of the song writing here which shows a different side of the boys.

X (pronounced ten) is the eighth studio album by English rock band Def Leppard, released on 30 July 2002 by Island Records in the US and sister label Mercury worldwide.

Much like 1996's Slang, it featured another departure from their signature sound by moving into the pop genre. The album charted at No. 11 on The Billboard 200 and No. 14 on the UK Albums Chart.

Most of the album was produced by Pete Woodroffe and the band, with remaining tracks produced by either Marti Frederiksen or Per Aldeheim and Andreas Carlsson. This is the first Def Leppard album in which drummer Rick Allen actively took part in song-writing. On all of the band's prior albums, he is only credited with helping co-write three tracks. On this album alone, he co-wrote eleven.

The album features the Roman numeral 'X', recognizing it as their tenth album release, although the album is in fact only their eighth collection of all-new studio material. The other two albums released by the band prior to the release of X, Retro Active and Vault, were a rerecording of B-sides and rarities and a greatest hits set respectively.

The album peaked at number 11 on the Billboard 200, but did not sell to the standards of their previous releases and failed to earn any RIAA certifications. With the exception of an abbreviated version of "Now" being performed as part of an acoustic medley during the 'Rock of Ages' tour in 2012, nothing from this album was performed live by the band since the conclusion of its supporting tour until their Vegas Residency in 2019.
