Listening to a an Americana station on the phone drinking coffee whilst my landlord makes bacon and eggs.
Bizarre, psychedelic, sci-fi psychological thriller starring Jake Gyllenhaall. To my mind it's one of the rare instances where the theatrical cut is better than the director's cut.What exactly is Donnie Darko? Heard the name of course, but not a clue what it's/he's about?

OMG THAT'S AMAZING NEWS. Colbert is my kind of nerd. The Amber Chronicles are top tier. And there is no doubt he will be 100% respectful of the source material. I don't care if folks change things for TV and movies -- you have to, really. But it kills me when they just completely alter fundamental aspects of the story.I turned my buddy Nate on to Roger Zelazny's The Amber Chronicles many years ago.
George RR Martin cites The Chronicles Of Amber as an inspiration to his Game Of Thrones series.
Nate just told me that another one of my favorite humans is also a fan and hopes to bring it to TV.

It seems that the project is dead in the water for now but it's been a few years since the last
time I read the Chronicles so for now I'll listen to Roger read a bit of the first Amber book (1970).
Edited: just re-read and saw the project is stalled. Bummer. I hope he has the juice to pull it off someday.

I definitely liked the director's cut of Blade Runner better for the exact same reason I prefer the theatrical release of Donnie Darko: I like it when filmmakers leave things up to the viewer's imagination. Studio's tend to strip out ambiguity, as happened with Blade Runner. For some reason it went in the opposite direction with Donnie Darko.Sounds intriguing... I need to re-watch the Final Cut of Blade Runner -- haven't seen it in quite a while. That's Scott's definitive take.

I didn't, but then I looked up Darko Audio.
