I miss it too; we had 4-5 locations in our area In San Jose. All themed differently. They were so much cooler than Best Buy.

In 2001 or 2002 when MP3 was King, Sony put out a really nice discman that could read MP3 CDs, it was a few weeks before the iPod was released. I thought it was so cool, so I spent a whole paycheck on it and started burning MP3 CDs. It was unique as it would read the CD then stop spinning. Absolutely no skipping at all.

The iPod came out and I felt jaded lol

I ended up buying a 2nd gen iPod than the iPod Photo later. Most folks probably don’t even remember the iPod photo. It was the 1st gen that displayed the album art. In the early 2000s that was some hip tech.

I still have the CD player and my iPods, Fry’s was a big part of my late teens and early 20s it was such a cool store.

Jazz is good… that’s mostly what I heard growing up (you know before the early 60s :p) I don’t have any Crusaders yet, but I have most Fourplay and Carlton was a member on all but 2 ( i bought ‘em cuz I liked their stuff.) I don’t always pay attention to who’s who. Also a fan of Bob James.

The wife and I point it out to each other all the time. lol
