They last forever, too.I'm actually pretty impressed with the Wave Radio product. It has good ergonomics and does provide nice sound for bedroom, kitchen, office, garage, etc. duty.
I just wouldn't spend $500 on one.

I've got on of their tvs in my bedroom that I bought in June of 2011. It buzzes for a bit (power supply?)when it's first turned on but it's still going.

Maybe so. However, I'd buy this before a Wave.
That it has a sort of retro look IMO doesn't hurt.
If I didn't need a CD player I'd go with this.
Both come in more than one color and both have remotes for the modern lazy person.
And I'd gladly take a Sangean over both of them.

U Turn. This was the biggest piece of garbage I have ever bought.
Starting with the miniature yellow bugs that came out of the plinth, the wobbly platter that was replaced by even wobblier one, the stylus that would always skip the first few grooves and most of all the incredible amount of hum...
I then ended up getting a Denon DP-1200 and am very happy with it.

I would never buy any east coast type of speaker.....AR, Polk....etc. Why? Can't stand them.
I would never buy an audio product made by a company that is involved in many things that are not audio related. If a company makes guitars, motorcycles AND home audio.....forget it. No Yamaha here.

I've learned to never say never. Every time I bad mouth a manufacturer, I later learn that the whole world (except me) knew that the particular model I bought was a dud, and I should have bought a different model. And I should have bought from the shop across town for half the price.

My wife bought one about ten years ago, and it has seen plenty of outdoor deck parties and been fairly bullet proof. Every once in awhile the CD player acts up, but it still sounds decent for what it is.I'm actually pretty impressed with the Wave Radio product. I won't buy any radio with a built in CD player. Odds are that the mechanical side will give out before the electronics and I'll be stuck with a half functional product, That would bug me to no end. I'd hate to get rid of a perfectly good radio but hate being stuck with a broken CD player. As long as it had an "aux" input I'd be fine.
I've got a CSW Model 88 radio (no CD player) that's still going strong and I can plug in a CD player, Iphone or other devices through the aux port..

I'm in the same boat. McIntosh is for when my ship comes in, but at nearly 63 I think I missed it. So as to my stuff, I seem to have a Lotta Schiit in the audio path.. hey us bottom feeders need good sounding gear too!

I don't know, you want to trade your house for all my audio including record collection.
It's all setup for you in my crappy 3 bed, 2 bath 1400 square foot rental house.
I think we all have to look at perceptive and our choices of priorities.

Well, we own our little 1700sf house outright, but you eventually realize that regardless of who holds title, be it landlord, mortgage company or inhabitant, that in a very real sense we are all renting during our stay in this solar system. Sometimes a house owns you more than you it. Security sought in things is illusory. Once we are gone, strangers move in and pay their rent for their time in it. Nursing homes drive the real estate market.
"So, baby, let's just rent the house and get a bitchen stereo." Just try to sell her that plan.
Like I said, women drive the real estate market.
Absolutely priorities is what it is about. I don't share my passion for audio with my wife so that limits me to what I am willing to spend. Fortunately for me my old rig I bought 40+ years ago, all cleaned up and rebuilt is again making me happy enough.I don't know, you want to trade your house for all my audio including record collection.

I did finally sell my old 65 Chevy 4x4 the other day and now I could maybe buy some Mac stuff but I'm thinking about another boat, and so it'll goes...
