What can you hear?

Hey I actually think it would be cool if your channel took off and you did .

Right or wrong just my first thought.
Well GChief, because you strive for political correctness and are not as blatantly obvious as the others, you made it to the finals. Congratulations

Not interested in making it to the finals (?) and lacking even an ounce of P.C., your Fisher amp is not a very well known piece. I seem to remember they were pretty good sounding. Pared with the B&Ws, I'm sure you like how your system sounds. Unfortunately, the rest of us can't tell unless we hear it in person.

What is the video size limit for posts here? I actually have a few of my daughters set up in my phone but they error out do to size. I have edited one down to 7 secs and it’s still to big. iPhone recordings.

I don’t know how or what you guys listen on, but I can hear the many differences in people’s stereo listening area that’s recorded on YouTube; Especially if they are using an external microphone. I hear dynamics, separation, vocal clarity, etc. I can pick up these differences on a lossy Bluetooth speaker, my stereo, or headphones. They don’t all “sound like my speakers.” But of course some AK critics argue the fact IMO just to argue.

Yes, audio is full of arguments... Analog vs. Digital, Tubes vs. Solid State, BJTs vs. MOSFETs, etc...

You'll certainly hear when they're obviously degraded. A poor source won't get better for passing through a phone microphone and YouTube.

What you can't hear are subtle distinctions in quality, unique timbral variations between systems or components, or subtlety like differences in source file formats (assuming they're good to begin with; a poor MP3 will probably be audible), because all of that will be lost in listeners' system variations and the inherently lossy phone microphone and YouTube compression.

Beware too of the psychological impact of seeing another system -- that can make it subjectively seem better than it is, as your brain subconsciously adjusts for the setting. What sounds full and pleasing when you're watching can sound surprisingly thin, artificial, full of reverb, and obviously recorded when you look away.

Yeah that’s not going to happen, to much effort for something I don’t think achieves much of anything.

All good though enjoy!

It’s about a 5 minute process, oh well it’s all good. I just recently learned how to do it and I’m still perfecting it. If you have listened to any of my videos, you’ll hear them get progressively better over the short time I’ve been doing them.

Edit: All with an old iPhone and $47 microphone.

I am working in Spain and I have to be at work at 6am, I’m horizontal shuffling my Tidal. 5 minutes might as well be 2 hours

Some people really don’t hear or listen, repeating:rant: “it’s a phone microphone”.Its an ZOOM .IQ7 external stereo microphone.
