What can you tell me about these JBL's

If the grilles are shot you can buy aftermarket replacements identical to the originals along with the frames, if you need them too. Foam Trends online.

Definately worth it if they are in decent shape. If they'll be in your way, I'd be glad to take them off your hands. Wouldn't want you to have to clean around them.

Hmmmm. How far north is northern Indiana?

OK - I got them for $250 - the cabinets are in rough shape - not a problem with me - I refinish furniture as a hobby - Pictures later when I find out how to post - I have a lot to do now - probably tonight.

At $250, I hope all the drivers are in good shape.. really good shape ones sell in the hood of $300 to $350..

Similost -
From the initial visual inspection, they look good - a little dusty and not beat up. How do I check the condition of the drivers? Just play them? (never bought used speakers) The guy I bought them from said that they removed them so he could put in a surround sound - needed the room.

If I remember right, don't the L100's have the white rubber type surrounds? If so, those may be kind of hard and stiff... Other wise.. yep.. plug them up and make sure all the drivers put out good sound..

No they have the accordian type surrounds with the goopy stuff on them. White woofer cones. They should be fine forever. If the cabs are beat up you paid too much. Pristine examples go for 3 or 4 bills. They're decent speakers.

Hook em up to an amp or reciever and play em. Take it easy at first. Ramp up on the volume a little at a time. If anything is wrong they'll let you know. If a tweeter or mid starts cutting out, play with the attenuator knobs and it'll most likely kick back on. The pots might be dirty.

Have you checked eBay lately? The going price has gone up lately. Plus consider that he paid no shipping and $250 is not bad at all!
