What Cartridge for the ATP-12T tone arm?

I have a Audio Technica ATP 12T and its missing the head-shell, Cartridge, and Stylus.... What's best for this arm?


Also it's missing the rear counter weight... Any ideas where to find that?

Headshell weighs 10 grams. Cartridge choices are medium mass to high mass. Counterweight would likely need to come from a parts donor or from Audio-Technica in Japan. There is a reissue of it available there but it is $1800. Why not see if you can find a parts tonearm. Either the ATP-12T or 16T will work for parts. Most of these tonearms in the USA were used in radio stations. Contact some and see if the engineer has one he'll let go.

Parts/parts units for the ATP12T show up on the auction site every now and then. I run a Denon DL-103 on my ATP12T, also a Stanton 681EEE would work.
