Wow... talk about rare. We sold the Stax headphones at our store, along with Float, BeyerDynamic, and Sennheiser. I remember they were neutral to a fault. Is their preamp the same?

I recently acquired the Stax and it needs restoration. I will let you know once I get a proper listening session with it.

Denon PRA-1500. I don't know if it's considered "high end" but I like it and it has some nice features. Support for MM and MC and it's connected to my power amp with balanced XLR cables.

I've got a Yamaha C2a and C2x. Not modern hi-end, but great performers in their day with very, very good phono sections.

I am still using a Meitner Switchman II multichannel analog preamp from the early days of SACD. I bought this just before they re-designed the exterior to make it suitable for "audiophile tastes" while tripling the price. I fear I would spend $5000+ for something of similar quality should it croak.
