Found this what appears to be some kind of powered antennae. It has a coax connection from it and a plugin for an ac adapter. There is a power light in the front with an adjustment that indicates - or +.

It is a TV antenna. I have the exact same one. If I remember correctly it makes a good FM antenna.

It is an AM/FM antenna. I found referrence to this antenna on the internet, but I didn't find any technical specifications or how well it works.

I tried as an fm antennae and I got some kind of buzzing. This was about six months ago so I don't remember that well.It has been put away since then.I will try on a different receiver. My next question. Why the power supply? is it supposed to make it stronger?I rember doing a web search back then and finding nothing.

It is a Terk...I bought one just like it for my Carver TX-11 FM tuner back in '86 or so and it picked up quite a few stations. I didn't keep it for very long, though, when I lost interest in radio and stopped listening altogether, and gave it to my kid brother.

It´s an amplified antenna, hence the power supply. The levell of amplification can be adjusted, too.
