What Is Your Favorite Integrated Amp?

Hitachi HA-610

Hitachi made some nice sounding equipment back in the mid 80s. I needed a stereo when I was in Japan and bought Hitachi mini-componet system and it still sounds wonderful today. The cassette player has been broke for a decade(s), but the amp and speakers sound really nice with just a small portable regular CD player plugged into it. It's a keeper!

Hitachi is A-ok! I like their projection TVs too.

The best sounding and most elegant integrated I ever had was the Technics SUV 9, mot the 909 but the 9. Wished I had it back- very strong sounding and would drive anything!

I picked up an SU-V9 amp recently. After some cleaning with deoxit it is working pretty well. Nice piece of equipment; kind of interesting styling with the glass swing-down door, it is growing on me. Tried it out w/Apogee Centaurs tonight, sounded great and seemingly no problem pushing them.

Loving my JVC A-X5. @ 73 wpc more than enough power, though I really want the A-X9!

Of all my integrated amps (including Yamaha CA-2010, HH Scott 299D, and AIWA A-60 models), my favorite remains the entry-level McIntosh MA-6100, both for esthetics and performance.

I too love my McIntosh MA-6100, best integrated I've heard.

I've been rather impressed with the Akai UC-U3 I got for my girlfriend

I really like the sound of my kyocera A-710 integrated.:music: Also have a sansui au-517 and a au-717 (rebuilt). My pioneer sa-8800 floroscan is a beautiful piece of gear, though it sounds a little cold to me.

Not really vintage, yet. It is getting old though, my Creek 4240SE is my favorite. I listened to a lot of equipment back when I was shopping for an integrated and this sounded the best. I still love the way it sounds, very detailed.

I haven't run an integrated amp in years (though I still own some) but my favorite by far among the ones I operated for a significant length of time was a Yamaha A-1000 ca. 1982. It was bliss in Class A mode, but offered great clean power in AB to drive even inefficient speakers. Plenty of cartridge-loading settings, etc. Build quality was excellent. I considered it a bargain for the price I paid new (whatever that was!)
