What ohms does 3, 8 ohm speakers connected make?

So I have been wondering how many ohms would 3 speakers that are 8 ohms connected in parallel wiring make?

8 divided by 3 for identical speakers.

About 2.7 Ohms. Remember that the impedance of a speaker will vary with frequency of the musical notes and in the real world a speaker rated at 8 Ohms may appear to the amplifier as something less, just for example 6 Ohms at certain musical note frequencies (for identical speakers that would result in 2 Ohms) and not all speakers rated will behave the same.

At certain musical note frequencies the impedance of a speaker may be higher than its rated impedance. We tend not to worry about this, because as a general rule (there are exceptions) it is the lower impedance numbers that are hard on amplifiers.

So the simple answer is about 2.7 Ohms, but it is not always that simple.
 
Two low for most direct couple amplifiers and recievers, $ ohms is bad enough. . There were a couple of Mcintosh Recievers and integrated amps with out autoformers that could handle that load back in the 70's. Today Mcintosh uses autoformers to drive 2 ohms and a bit below. Mono blocks with 2 ohm taps can handle the job with ease, as can their integrated and 1 current receiver. As long as you don't ask for more than a few watts of power you will be OK, but anything more can cause premature failure of the electronics and clipping, damaging your speakers.
