What was the the last audio-related item you purchased?

A pair of Monitor Audio Silver 1 bookshelf speakers in gorgeous rosenut veneer finish. I used to own a pair of the previous series RX-1 and have missed them ever since selling them a few years ago. There is a newer model that replaced the Silver 1 (Silver 50), but I found a new pair of Silver 1's for about $300 less.

I haven't bought a new piece of gear in quite a while and I cannot wait for these to arrive!

Thank you, and I hope all is well with you too!

As it has been for pretty much everyone in the country the last couple of months, it's been a stressful time for me. It got much better for me today as after 2 months of waiting, I finally got the Pandemic Unemployment benefits approved.

That is why I decided to spend some of my $1200 stimulus check on some speakers. :)

Just keep this in mind ^^ :)

Technics SL-1500c turntable. Before that, a Schiit Mani which is not as good as the phono amp I had before - a Pro-Ject Tube Box DS.

I've ordered a custom wood plainth for the Technics which should be here next week. It will be of American black walnut or genuine mahogany if walnut not available. It will have dovetail corner joints. I'll finish it myself with maybe a red wood dye followed by tung oil then paste wax.

Shopping for a preamp next.

The new speakers just arrived and they sure are purdy! But then, I already owned the RX-1 in the same rosenut finish so I knew how nice Monitor Audio finishes their speakers.

It's too nice to sit inside today, so I'm going on a motorcycle ride. I'm anxious to hook them up later and enjoy them, gonna have a get some beer to enhance the listening pleasure.

Yea me too, I got a good deal on that player a while back. My other CDP is a Sony X33ES I like both a lot but that 1200 is just a lot of fun. :)
I would love to have one of the early Marantz/Philips/Magnavox top loaders. Nice and compact too. But they sell for too much for something that's probably going to need some work.

Yea they usually do, but worth the investment. This one needed some cleaning but nothing a can of Deoxit didn’t fix. It’s a beast, it weighs like 35lbs. I got lucky and found a good cond. model.

It's in great shape, don't know if it's been refurbished or not. PO said he bought it as is 3 years ago. I was looking for a rack mountable preamp and it popped up on fleebay for a reasonable price compared to the SPEC units so I grabbed it.

Saw the M-73 earlier today actually. It's a long ways away, I wouldn't be able to sleep at night wondering if it was going to arrive intact.

I love the warmer "analog" sound of tape.... then again, this is purely subjective!!:beerchug: Besides, cassettes are unusual these days. Perhaps that makes them "mysterious", and being mysterious is good. ;)
Yeah I think cassettes are still pretty cool.I listen to tapes once and a while but haven't made one in probably 10 years.
