What was the the last audio-related item you purchased?

Here's an interesting one:

A couple weeks ago I saw a Denon DL-103 listed on amazon for $250CAD! I thought it was a misprint or possibly a knock-off but it was from Denon directly. Needless to say I pushed the order button immediately. Next day the price jumped to $429CAD. But it did arrive and is fantastic!

I also just picked up a Project DS2 tube phono preamp for $750CAD. This was a huge improvement over the phono stage in my Fisher 500C. And I love the fact that it has 2 inputs/outputs as I usually run 2 turntables on my shelf and can also alternate between by tube amp and SS.

The DL-103 was certainly my best deal recently but the DS2 is my favorite recent purchase for the impact it's had on my sound quality. Some good deals out there now with lots of free shipping to boot!

Yesterday, the mailman delivered these awesome GRS 1TD1-8 1" fabric dome tweeters which I had ordered to replace blown Polycells in an Infinity RS-3000 pair (which had been waiting on the project pile for several years).

After installation and extended listening test, I would not hesitate to claim that they sound so much better than the originals.
And, at such a reasonable price (just $30 for 4), I just had to get an extra pair

I had a Pioneer Spec 2 Amplifier. About 4 months ago I sold it. Then about 6 weeks ago I bought a Sansui B-2301 Power Amplifier. Since I could not afford the matching C-2301 preamp. I have been using my Computer and Pc Equalizer software as a preamp. I wish I knew if I could use wave:dunno: plugins as a preamp?

So, interesting choices... I'm looking at the Audiolab 6000A. What compelled you to choose the Cambridge? Good luck with it!

Wanted a streamer... did some research and heard one in a home environment

Reviews were outstanding

I got what I wanted and then some - Recommended

Because I broke my SL-BD22's stylus a few months ago, I'd been completely without vinyl playback for a good long while (I tried ordering a cheap replacement from ebay back when international mail still worked, but it was a dud right out of the box). And as the pandemic situation has removed all possibility of getting vintage gear, I ended up buying a brand new LP-120X and getting it delivered to my door. It's not much of a turntable but should last me long enough.

My new Audio Note TT3 Turntable 3 motor turntable with external power supply for pitch control and speed selection. Biggest upgrade I've ever made to my system.

Audio Note M3 Phono preamp (silver), TT3 turntable, PSU1 Power supply for turntable.

Rest of system
Speakers: Audio Note AN E/SPx AlNiCo Hemp speakers and Empress Silver 2a3 Parallel Single Ended mono-blocks.

The TT3 pays more than just homage to the famed Voyd Reference turntable. One of the finest tables ever made.

3 reviewers at Hi-Fi Critic weighed in - for those interested. I am still in shock at what vinyl can really do.

An AT-LH18/OCC headshell. Pretty heavy @ 18g, also available in 15g and 13g versions. Adjustable for both azimuth and overhang. From a Japan seller, took about two weeks.

A pair of Monitor Audio Silver 1 bookshelf speakers in gorgeous rosenut veneer finish. I used to own a pair of the previous series RX-1 and have missed them ever since selling them a few years ago. There is a newer model that replaced the Silver 1 (Silver 50), but I found a new pair of Silver 1's for about $300 less.

I haven't bought a new piece of gear in quite a while and I cannot wait for these to arrive!
