What's a cool looking receiver?

The look of an airplane console is probably what I'm looking for. Anyway, those pics are unreal. The ones on this page from BigTuna are just crazy.

I think if I had the money to just buy whatever I wanted it wouldn't be as special. The experience of just looking at all this cool stuff and NOT being able to just go purchase it immediately makes it more special. Maybe life shouldn't be just getting all you want. It robs you of something by just getting something with no sacrifice at all.

(I went to the clubs tonight. Do you realize how bad music has gotten? I mean some is cool but very, very little in the clubs I was at tonight. A lot of guys asking to dance with me, and I didn't have the ambition to tell them that i wasn't going to dance to that crap. This was a totally drunk post. Did not drive btw.)
Well, I don't exactly just get whatever I want. There have been many cases where I could not get what I wanted. I just smile and move onto the next thing. Now it's even worse since I am unemployed, and some of the receivers I showed, I have since sold. :(

Julie, I have two words for you: Galaxy Commander.

Behold, the mighty Kenwood KR-1000, affectionately known by the above moniker.

You gotta love the 80s philosophy: more lights + more buttons = better.

That KR-1000 sure takes the button style as far as it can go. No dials of course, but not even any sliders. I like dials, but I can appreciate the neat techie look of this unit.

Friend of mine has these, some pretty cool looking receivers if you ask me.

The Mac has a cool mixture of modern and vintage look, and the Scott is just so clean and nice looking.

I dunno, I always liked the 4100 better:

He actually has one of those too - I just prefer vintage black face over silver. McIntosh sure makes some pretty gear that sounds good - wish I could afford it but price of entry is too high for what you get for me.

I like the unusual looks (for its Time) of these two for example!

Of course there are many more.

About Sansui.
For some reason i always disliked the overloaded Design of the G series.
The older 8080 9090 or the 2000, 4000etc. are my favourites by Sansui.

And of course the HH Scotts are nearly all ey catching, even the smaller ones.
