What's your best thrift store speaker score?

AR TSW-410 for appx. $7.00. These were rough in a few aspects,but with a good bit of work & $$$ invested in them they turned out REALLY nice.

Grafyx Model 4 for appx. $12.00 IIRC. These need the mids & woofers refoamed,one grill missing too,but they seem to me to have a whole lotta potential.

Jensen Model 4 for something like $8.00 or so. These needed a tweeter (found another thanks to a fellow AK'er) and the woofers need to be refoamed,but that's NBD.

All from the local Value Village,the other thrifts around here rarely have anything of significance,at least when I check them they dont have anything worth having.

Either have to be the beautiful pair of Polk Monitor 5jr for $8 or the Paradigm PDR-12 subwoofer for $10.

My parents have the Polks now, and love them. The subwoofer is in my living room, I love it. :)

Minimum 7's (white) for 5 bucks thrift store

I've lucked out with some of these finds. Like most thrift's, GW's & SA's, they have crap most of the time.
 
It's been a while since anything good has come out of a thrift store for me so I do not frequent them any longer

A few years ago, I found a pair of ESS Amt-1A's for $40
I once bought a set of JBL L65's for $45 from a GW store. While in line, a nice gent standing ahead of me, offered to use his 10% Senior Discount for me. The cashier had no problem with it. ;-)
 
Lot of lucky guys here. I felt lucky when I found my Paradigm 7se-II with stands for $78 the pair, and in very good condition, needing only a recap. Still have them in our guest bedroom. Still love their SQ. Not the steal of the century, but a really sweet deal nonetheless.
 
I have only seen what was pretty much crap. The only thing that was decent (and I bought) was a pair of Baby Advent II's for $5.95.

So far, my best and only SA find is mt Rectilinear XII. I've found that every region is different. The big SA in the city is pointless because it's mobbed by swap meet re-sellers who camp out there and fight over anything they can flip for a few bucks. Actually have better luck at the small SA in the village where I live.
