What's your latest audio purchase?

an NOS Pickering XV-15 stylus, an old Fisher console pull, along with the Garrard Type AII and the University speakers from another console, and as soon as I pay for them, a set of Audio Technica leveling / isolation feet.

A Sealed copy of Asleep at the Wheel's "Texas Gold" off the auction site. Cracked the seal and stuck my nose in and took a whiff of the past. Love it.

Pair of JBL LX44's ($7.00 for the pair!) and finally....a Pioneer SX-1010. Wasn't planning on getting one of these this soon....see what all the smiling is all about. What a stylistic highpoint and warm sound with detail!

So, a soldier is moving out of our complex and has a moving sale. Wifey asks me to take a look as he has a coffee/end table set for sale. Walk up there to take a look at the tables only.

Wow, has a pretty nice looking home theater set up. Running a big Yammie AVR with some PSB 500's with matching stands, Velodyne sub and PSB Alpha surrounds and a Definitive Technologies center. We get to talking and it seems his Dad purchased all of the PSB's and Velodyne new in 1992. Everything is like new, nary a scratch.

Long story short. He was asking $80 for the coffee tables. I walked away with

1. Pair of PSB 500's on matching stands
2. Pair of PSB Alphas on stands
3. Velodyne V-810-B Sub
4. Definitive Technologies C-1 Center
5. Monster Cable wire for all of the above.
6. TV stand as pictured.
7. An extra set of small speaker stands.
8. Monster Cable for all of the above.

and for the wife, a set of candles and the tables.

$290 out the door. He even helped me carry it home. Thanks for your service!

A fully working California Audio Labs Icon mkII Power Boss (HDCD) cd player for $20.00 at Value Village.

I just picked up three sets of Kimber Silver Streak cables for all my source to pre connections. they are the last three interconnects in the system that needed to be upgraded, next up will be to upgrade the speaker wires. then a whole new digital front end. never stops does it.

A Sansui AU-20000 that works but needs some attention.

And a cool Pilot tuner from gadget73 to complete my mono rig.

2 things at about the same time...

Audioengine 5+ powered speakers. Had planned using them on each side of my computer monitor but they found a better place as speakers for my 60" plasma TV.

Vintage Sansui G9000 receiver. A tech friend came across this, said it looked brand new and brought it up to a perfect working condition. One look and I had to have it.

picked a Cayin S-100 amp, and a pair of Acoustat 1's in a trade yesterday. Can't wait to set up my second system!

Mint condition B&K PRO10MC Sonata preamp with the optional balanced outputs.
