Edit: For whom is interested. All known to me other versions of Philips CD Extra blank cassettes are:

- Made in Germany
- Östenreichische Philips Industrie GMBH Magnetic Media Vienna / Austria
- Made in Australia / assembled in RPC
- Made in Malaysia

And these versions above perform exactly the same!

My latest purchase is nothing earth shattering. I bought speaker wire and banana plugs to finish setting up the rear surround speakers in the viewing/listening room. We bought a home last fall and moved into it in February. It has been a long slog getting fully settled in.

Yesterday I purchased another lot of 10x sealed boxed Philips cassettes. But these are " Philips CD One " C90 Type I Ferro cassettes. But not delivered yet.
Although I had no budget left and was neither looking for more type I cassettes; these were locally offered for in total €18,- Euros including shipping for all ten cassettes.......So I couldn't let them pass.

As I mentioned before I'm in the process of buying as fast as I can ia maximum of 100pcs or so sealed cassettes in total consisting of type I, II and IV. To use them, and thus not just for the sake of collecting. So I don't run out, if I make it till a hundred plus years young I suppose :rflmao:

Thanks! We have three grandkids (10, 5 and 4) who are now ten minutes away and one of my goals is to put together a gaming, media, web browsing and music multipurpose room. I have obtained pretty much all the hardware for doing this and do have a somewhat functional space now. However, there are a lot of details to complete to make the space fully functional. When it is done I will have a dedicated area that will satisfy a lot of my wants which is a space where I can listen to music, watch movies, browse the internet, etc., or just take a nap.
 
Just delivered and purchased 3 days today ago for in total €15,-plus €5,64 including shipping and buyers protection. For all ten Philips CD ONE Ferro Type I C90 cassettes compact audio cassettes. Thus not €18 euros as one can read in my post above announcing this local purchase!

Picked these Altecs up today. Cabinets are in VG+ condition. Grill fabric needs replaced

. While there I made an offer on these. Waiting to hear back.

Found recently the Hitachi HMA 8500 MK II, the power amplifier match to the HCA 8500 MK II preamplifier. The 8500 was Hitachi's top of the line for specs at 100 watts per channel into 8 ohms, frequency response from .5Hz to 100k Hz, and .005% THD (however they measured it), and showing off Hitachi's own MOSFET output transistors. No restoration yet, less than 10mv dc on the outputs, and sounds pretty darn good. The HMA 7500 power amp (first version) is also a gem, IMO. Won't leave the preamp there for long - it could easily challenge the average space heater once it gets going.

I have the 8500 Mk ll pair as well. The amp sounds excellent, so tubey and it’ll keep you warm at night. The meters need lamps otherwise it’s in beautiful shape.
