There's nothing in my Mcintosh units to spray and my Fosi gear is new enough that it won't need it for years if ever.

Amazon has for ~$18.It's about the best price I could find anywhere and the main reason I use it sparingly. Both Long & McQuade and Best Buy have it for $26.99 while Amazon.ca will stiff you for $47.12. Just the price we have to pay to live in the True North strong and free!

Just got some -shock horror- used speaker cable (4 and 2 pole) in my own village through local classifieds for a more than decent price.
Used one of the cables and 3 connectors to make a Y cable, forgot what a nightmare old Neutrik (NL2FC) Speakon connectors are to install.

Besides the Caig products, I do have MG Chemicals 404B Contact Cleaner, Electrosolve Contact Cleaner, and their Super Contact Cleaner on hand, all available at the last surviving electrical parts store here in Victoria. I have bought the D5 at Lees when I'm over on the mainland but I've never been able to find the Motomaster contact cleaner at my local Can Tire store. The same goes with the WD-40 cleaner, no can find at either Can Tire or Princess Auto. Maybe I'll try again and thanks for the suggestions.

It is currently in the Canadian Tire inventory according to their online portal. But to be sure. Why not just give them a call before take the Ferry or Seaplane?!
No expensive trips to the mainland necessary as we have four Can Tire outlets nearby.
Needed another outlet so traded my Shunyata Gemini-4 on an Eiger 6/T. Should be a nice upgrade in technology, as well. If you are a digital listener and haven't tried at least a Shunyata NR power cable you may be leaving a fair bit of money on the table, music-wise. Obviously, YMMV.

O, I thought you wrote Canadian Tire Victoria or the Island in general didn't have it. And neither when you visited the lower mainland? Sry my bad. Thus local choices enough indeed! Canadian tire's are everywhere in Canada. I happen to know from experience.
But now back in the Netherland for more then 4 years already; it is the local " Praxis " store where I now buy my ' dead cheap ' supurb contact cleaner

For mainly cassette deck repair I purchased a very eleborate little toolkit ( marketed for cellular phone and game console and laptops etc repair ) with all kinds of small and tiny sized flathead, Torx, Philips etc etc bits, sockets, extractors, reamers, pry tools and nut sockets etc.
Especially practical for (late) 70's and 80' 90's and onwards cassette decks and other hifi gear and small electronics in general of course.
Nice little locking toolbox. Thus no more loose bits etc.
Again: Something like this is very handy to work on smaller late 70's and later, cassette deck transports especially!

The DA30ES... I've since moved the speakers to the top of the dresser. Seems to have made them a bit less boomy. I do need to source a replacement speaker selector knob and figure out why the receiver engages the muting mode (no indicator, however), if you turn on the EQ, or try to use any surround functions. Also need to hunt down an AM loop antenna and a Select-A-Tenna for it.

So far, its a wonderful sounding amplifier. Lots of power, and drives my DQ10 effortlessly.
Needed PA tops and found a pair of Peavey Project V.
Got them for a ridiculous price and the (now) previous owner was a super cool guy.
Doesn't really look like home HiFi, but they sound really good in the living room so far..
I feel lucky!
Getting them home was a bit of an adventure though.

Very nice! How long is the break in period?
My buddy previously broke it in before upgrading to a Koetsu Onix Platinum. I'm just giving it a good trial period of 20 hours. I think the official answer would be about 50 hours of initial break in.

Box of 10 sealed NOS Philips CD Extra C90 type II chrome position compact audio cassettes. A €40,- euros plus 5 euros shipping local thrift store purchase. Therefor in my opinion realistic priced.
I keep them sealed for now because I have others already unwrapped. But used, they will be ;-)
