pm's a nice fellow. Loved his blinking avatar.I got a PM from pmsummer yesterday. He's obviously alive and also shared that he is in fact cancer-free.
Dry sense of humor intact.

Glad to hear from you Bob. You have definitely been missed. Also, glad that things seem to be going as well as can be expected. We're all here for you. We all love you and those of us who practice any faith are praying for you.Haven't been on too much lately due to a busy schedule, mostly medical. Decided it was time for an update on my gastric cancer. I've now been in chemotherapy for over 9 months, going every two weeks for infusions. All the results are good, I had a MRI brain scan last week because gastric cancer has a tendency to spread to the brain.. The results came back normal, no cancer. They have cut back on some of my drugs and in September the doctor is thinking of putting me on a pill to take the place of the cheno pump I have to wear for 46 hours after a session. I would also only have to go into the infusion center every 6 weeks instead of every 2. I'm feeling great and have spent a lot off time in my yard getting it cleaned up. A few weeks ago I moved 400 pounds of sand and a yard and a half of mulch. This was spread out ( a little pun there) over a few days and I didn't try to overdo it. My family has been wonderful and I am spending some fun times with the grandkids. I have been blessed with mild side effects and no pain at all. I also am able to eat a normal diet with no problems. Will let you know how things progress.![]()
Steve is of late VERY busy with other things and rarely stops in. He is WAY okay, I am in touch him.Haven't heard from Steve (@Ilikevinyl ) in a while. Hope all is well.

Chris, I will do that for ya.When you are in touch with him the next time, please say a "Hello" from me to him.
Seconded ... Mark cut beck activity / presence @ these boards several years ago. He pops up now and then, for me in PMs (convo, whatever) as well.@satellite65, I've been looking for any word on @markthefixer as well. Seems none here who may have had a direct line to him have had anything further to say, and he's been MIA for several months now. Based on what he had posted himself regarding his situation and condition, things didn't sound very promising to me, unfortunately. I didn't know him personally, nor do I have any contact info for him. But I often found his posts to be quite valuable, and he was a long time member here who made many worthy contributions to the collective knowledge base.
There has been a noticeable falloff in participation of many long time, once prolific AK members due to age and health (and, ultimately, mortality) catching up with them over the last 3-4 years, at least to my perception. A smaller subset have departed for other reasons (ongoing disagreements with other members, loss of interest, bans, etc.). This is all an inevitable evolution of the active membership here, especially considering how long AK has been around now. Still, it's not easy to see long time regulars fall away
Hey guy, glad to see (read) ya. There are the Old Timers who become moderators and the Old Timers who become the (more ofte, seems) moderated. I'm the latter, lol. Oh well, for Queen + Country.Well, I joined AK in July 2005, at a time when audio forums were kind of new and exciting, and it sure helped me getting rid of my obssession for audio related magazines.
I participated actively for a few years, and then gradually moved on to other things. The audio bug never left me, so occasionally I would come back , but to be honest feeling less and less at home while perusing the site due to its ever increasing size. What was cosy and comfortable in the begginning became stranger and colder every time I came by.
Browsing through the different forums, I do bump into some familiar names, though, and some nostalgia sets in. Some of the "oldtimers" are now moderators, which is kind of reassuring.

This is good news, I've been wondering about Steve a lot lately and was hoping he was just busy doing other things.Steve is of late VERY busy with other things and rarely stops in. He is WAY okay, I am in touch him.
He does get bogged down a lot with job & home ... good bogging(s) down, I reckon. This is good news, I've been wondering about Steve a lot lately and was hoping he was just busy doing other things.
