When AK members - friends - silently disappear

When AK members become friends to us, what might happen quite often, and those long time members disappear after 2000 or 5000 or more posts apruptly I ask myself: What might have happened to that friend - after you got no answer on pm requests. Two of my friends disappeard this year, that makes me pensive.

On the other hand, I have to accept that. We do not know what might have occured in the life of member X and there are so many things that might have ended the forum activity - an accident, sudden poverty, illness, death. There might be of course also the one or other less dramatic reason. Anyway I ask myself "Where is he just now in this moment? Is he at least okay so far?" But I have to accept that I will get no answer. I think some of you made similar experiences. Do you?
Well, I met some really great people right here and over on the Lansing Heritage site and still remain friends with a few of the folks from both but to be very honest I did get turned off by a few here who just wanted to argue whenever I said something I believed or knew as an opinion. The last thing any of us need here is for some jackwagon to give us a hard time because their stuff is better than our stuff or they don't like Altec or Sansui and call it garbage. Basically they can kiss MA and I dropped right out for many years.

I did a triple take when I saw your moniker. Good to see it again.

I recognized the 'comfortably Numb' right off. Good to hear from you.

I'm worried about pmsummer. It's been over a year since he's posted. He was rather private about his condition but would update us AK'ers about how sh*#ty it was going.

I used to have a physical address for Paul, that was 10 + years ago.
I might still have Paul's address and phone (and email, IIRC) information somewhere ... running annually between France / USA / Kenya has found me losing track of my stuff some. I am in France now and looking for Paul's contact information. If I find it I will attempt to contact him.

I live fairly close to Paul but don't have an address and never been to his house - we only met at a local bar a few years back. Don't have his phone number.

May find something on the Frazier group on FB I guess. He was the moderator.

Lots of the AK old timers migrated to FB.
And many of them are no longer posting there.
I purged my stuff there and post infrequently.
Only art and photography stuff.
I shut down my FB account completely late covid era. I remember the calculated response was "are you sure you won't miss your aunt ____"?

It was uncanny the person they picked to get me to question my decision. I established another line of communcation with her and that was the end of it.

It took me about a month to delete 20 years of stuff.
I saved some photo of my friends. Kinda wish I saved some of those conversations.
