Rob is 95. He is still feisty and posting regularly on FB.I fear that Rob, due to his age, will not return. He has been a precious and very helpful member.
I hope so much that he is doing well as best as possible.

Yup. I am FB friends with Rob. He posts at least 10 times a day. Usually with issues over his cell phone or some other computerized gadget. He's doing very well though and keeping his mind active.Rob is 95. He is still feisty and posting regularly on FB.
What about @Bratwurst7s ? I miss James indeed.

Yo.
Good pick.My personal hero is Sam Maloof.
Lucky me, my wife gave me 2 classes with him through UC Riverside Extension. He was 96 and working 6 days a week and loving it. ThanksGood pick.

Funny I thought that was too many 6’s when I wrote it. It was after we took the tour in 2005 (thanks Quicken!), so probably in 2007. Besides his unorthodox bandsaw technique, I remember talking with him at lunchtime. He was just loving on his first ever In ‘N’ Out Double Double. He also confided that he had kept Freida’s Boxster and enjoyed the occasional romp in the neighboring foothills. Anyone visiting SoCal that loves architecture, furniture and art should see the house that Sam built. Genius.
The Maloof house, the household furnishings (furniture pieces), all was/is pretty neat. We had a Maloof dining room set for a spell, eventually auctioned off for a charity (Claremont, CA) w/ which I was connected from around 2000 to 2014. Offered it via Moran Auctions @ Pasadena. It's been a while and I'd forgotten all of this stuff about Maloof until you brought him up @ this thread.Funny I thought that was too many 6’s when I wrote it. Does anybody have info on @DeadRock ? I always enjoyed seeing his posts from the great white north.
Yet that is what happens - In Life. Somewhat sad but that will always, forever, be the reality. Hold them in your heart. Remember the good exchanges. Be grateful to have them and realise that everything is final in this world. It always makes me sad when AK members - friends - silently disappear...
... without a trace
This is it exactly. We're all destined to follow suit, whether in silence or accompanied by some kinda bang. Hold that gratitude for having known them and in your memories hold their ways and what about them was important to you, to us.Yet that is what happens - In Life.
