When AK members - friends - silently disappear

There are also people who were friends on AK, they disappeared, now reappeared and utterly ignoring me and my waggy-tailed posts I leave them. I get all happy to see them back but I get ignored.

How should I understand this? Food for thought?

I am sorry to hear that you feel ignored Vlad. :)

I too have considered those that have left us, in one way or another. There is not much we can do about it. I have drifted away recently due to depression and anxiety. My stereo work room is now occupied by a 3 year old and has been stashed wherever there is room. This turnabout has kind of taken the wind out of my sails but I am still here. I just feel stymied because I can't work on anything anymore. I haven't had much to say. The rumor of my disappearance is greatly exaggerated.

people need a break ....

Folks who have different opinions or views on a subject at AK are often shut down pretty quick with criticism. Becomes discouraging .....

As Franks Burns said "Individuality is fine as long as we all do it together"

KB, good to hear from you, and offering some encouragement. Praying that you'll be able to get some space and time to do some hobby stuff, it's therapeutic and helps with the low happiness level. I know how hard it is to adjust to having children and their demands, and of course work, personal matters, and finances, the most common things that lead to anxiety and depression. Been there, done that.

Lots of venting, sharing, request for prayers, help threads out here. We are really extended family (in a positive sense! Not coming by to mooch) we can be support and good listeners too. Let us know in another thread how we can share and help.

Same offer goes for anyone on AK. We're all people and neighbors.

The AudioKarma community is an amazing precious place where we give and where we get.

KingBubba it requires a lot of encouragement to show as much intimacy and vulnerability as you and as AAA3330 did in this thread here.

In deep respect I bow to you both!

Well, even though I may be baited [Chris!] . . .

'Time Out', for meditation, is where I'm at.

Not all that smart - not enough of a 'team player' for many, here!

ATB Chris!

Cheers (to one and all), og

Yes, I decided to take 'Time Out' - for the balance of September [+/-], as it turned out!

I had issues on who was and wasn't speaking to whom [and, more particularly, 'why'!], around here. As if it mattered - I discovered [meditation can/does help!]. Everybody [as always] can please themselves - for anyone who may be interested in communicating though, my PM and email addresses are always open.

Having just a few friends on AK is good enough for me [I know that I can be an acquired taste!] - anything more than that would be a bonus. All in all, there are a lot worse places to hang-out than on AudioKarma. Also, I continue to learn much about 'audio-equipment'/music/movies/people, etc! :thmbsp:

I lost a 'friend' ["Pity"]; and gained a 'friend' ["Yeahhh"!] on AK during September - so it looks like life is continuing to do it's thing.

Cheers, og

PS: Fwiw: I was impressed by quite a few posts in this thread - particularly yours, Wiggy.

Honestly, wasn't he just joking around?

I've never understood how some threads become so heated so quickly. We've covered all this before, inflection, perception, and lastly, outright rudeness (which I really feel isn't that often around here)

After a long sabbatical, I decided to be active in my ability to listen, comprehend, and attempt to prevent ASS-umptions. I've found that my experience this go around has been more than pleasant.

It's not really difficult to leave one's ego at the door. If I can do it, hell.....

A breath of fresh air! :thmbsp:
