Frankly I get a homemade vibe. The tweeters appear to be piezo which are seldom found on commercial speakers (Yes I know there are exceptions). Also I find the multiplicity of drivers to be off putting like an amateur thinking if one is good than 4 is better. JMO.
On the other hand it appear to have a nice cabinet and stand at the very least testifying to good woodworking skills.

I was in the process of making some anodyne comments about trusting your own ears and so on. Then I noticed that there is apparently only one speaker involved. Save your time and simply throw the money away. Way over priced, and you probably will never find another. And they are not certain to sound that good anyway.

I estimate them to be worth based on similar ebay sold items £300+ maybe more because they are very rare might fetch £700 who knows what someone is willing to pay.

But seller has dropped a bombshell he says woofers are both faulty.

PHS (Piezo Hell Storm) if I had to assign a name but Radio Shack chose something else.

Funny!

I was thinking along the same lines. I had a flashback to the piezo tweeter replacements that Radio Shack sold in the 70's. It makes my ears hurt just looking at the picture of those speakers. :)

swechsler - G7's second post says there is 'one for sale', which I interpreted as one speaker, not one pair.

Hmm, I guess we'll have to wait for the OP to clarify. G7 - is it one speaker or a pair that's for sale? If the former, I'd definitely steer clear.

I bet they need foam after all these years. But I agree with the others, you can probably do better. The piezo array reminds me of some kind of mobile multiple rocket launcher, and without being too prejudiced, I fear it sounds like one too.

The only piezo tweeters I've heard are on my pair of Infinity Column II, circa 1977. One front facing and one rear facing. They're made by Motorola and are remarkable units. Better than EMITs in my opinion. Very natural sounding, with excellent open airiness.
