Who's listening with headphones tonight? To what?

I love that album and the title and the cover!

Damn I forgot how much I love listening through headphones! Fired up the 'ol Sansui Seven headphone output - this thing thumps... even with not-so-great recordings.

Starting to use a pair of "Sennheiser" RS 175's later in the evening for TV viewing. Great sound!

For action movies and some music offerings, I like lots of amplitude! And with the above "sleep-situation" in mind, I can do so... and NOT fear for my life!

The "Senns" have run now for a decade without a hitch. Have only done a replacement of the ear pads, and the price was reasonable.

I also like the different options for sound detail that the 175 offers.

Samson SR850 Semi open back studio headphones. Wicked bang for your buck and how can you go wrong with live Santana?

Listening to this right now. Through the old Sonys.

At night, I pull out the Kindle and put on Spotify Quiet Music for Reading via the Roku Spotify app, and the SkullCandy Crusher Evo 2 I just bought. Wireless and has big bass for music.

Audiophile quality? Not so much. But $129, decent sound and no wires across the floor to my chair from the AVR for me or my wife to trip on in the dark. And nothing to gather up and put away when done.

Since my last post in this thread, I've gone from Koss PRO4AA headphones plugged directly into my laptop to Koss QZ99 headphones run through a Sony STR-DH190 receiver. I watched the Sean Connery movie Outland (a dvd) on my laptop sending the sound through the Sony via Bluetooth and a Pig Hog headphone extension cable. Outland was nominated for Best Sound at the 1982 Academy Awards, and I've never heard it sound better than through my cheap headphone arrangement last night.

Im listening to the offspring's Americana on vinyl on my Yamaha YP-D6, powered by my Yamaha Cr-1020, some Yamaha YH-2 Orthodynamic headphones! Great sound! Oh and the girls say I'm pretty fly, for a white guy.:music:
Hey there...I just got a CR 1020 and REALLY like it! My headphones don't seem to work well with it, though. Is this common? Do I need some Orthodynamic headphones?

Using a lowly pair of "ANKER Soundcore Q35 ANC"-LDAC/High Res HP's that are on the bulky side, but still comfortable to use.

For just less of $100, they capture most of the input, with a decent bass response.

Mostly used when out, taking the dog for a walk, but my recent ear buds ("LIBERTY ANC 4's) are starting to give them a run-for-the-money.

No it’s the other way around, Yamaha’s receivers were optimized for their Orthodynamic headphones, such as the HP-1’s. They need lots of headroom to sound best. What headphones?
