Where i used to live i had a neighbor who bought their 18 yr old son some kind of rice rocket & a big one at that, every time he came home it was at 100 mph & every time he went out it was with a huge weelie or smokin the tire,he knew i rode scooters & saw me outside all the time with my bikes,he used to stop by & we'd bs about bikes a such.
One day he asked me jokingly "when ya gonna get a real bike & dump them Harleys",i asked him why he thought HD's were junk & he said his bike could go 220mph easy & no HD could do that,i told him thats great but riding is not about speed & he'd better get a grip on reality before he ended up in a nursing home wearin a diaper & suckin soup through a straw.
The entire summer he'd pull out in the street lookin like flash gordon wearing red leathers with fancy lookin tribal art all over them,do a huge burnout & take off like a maniac, right before the summer was over my wife saw a tow truck bringing the bike home all smashed up so i went over to see if he was ok,i talked to his parents & they told me he was ok but shook up & that he learned his lesson.
A few weeks later he stopped by & showed me the nastiest looking road rash on his arm i'd ever seen & told me what happened, him & a few of his friends were all racing from light to light when he lost it at 70 mph in a tight corner, went into the gravel then laid the bike down, the gravel turned his arm into hamburger.I asked him what he thought about riding again & he said he couldnt wait for insurance to pay his dad off so he could go buy a hyabusa:sigh:
For all i know the kid got the hyabusa & is dead as a door nail right now,i do know he didnt learn **** though.
