Why Izzit...

IIRC, way back in the day, "Road & Track" pitted one of the hottest street-legal motorcycles against one of the hottest cars-a Porsche or Ferrari, somesuch. Their conclusion: Motorcycles DO NOT handle better than cars, no matter what "they" say. They decided it was all a matter of physics, & had a bunch of formulas to back up their claim. You push a bike outside of its performance "envelope', & its gonna push back-w/the undertaker having the last laugh.

That's just pure stupidity even thinking about wanting to be like that.. On the plus side, some day, that kid in the video will be gone because of his stupidity.. but what pisses me off the most about it is, all the innocent people that are gonna get hurt or killd in the process when he splats into the front of one of those trucks he was splittling lanes with... and what pisses me off even more is one of the comments below it..

Times sure have changed.. no one ever seems to have respect for their sleves, much less anyone else...
 
Too many noobs wanting the fastest or biggest thing out there. I hate seeing someone with a big harley wobble to a stop or some punk kid running 100+ down the highway. Wanna ride fast? Find a race track or maybe an empty highway in the middle of nowhere don't wreak someone else.

As it's kinda been brought up already... new people to bikes, buying the biggest they can get...

Had a friend that went out and bought a v-rod.. first bike he ever owned.. 3 months down the road, he was out bar hopping, and got some girl to jump on the back and leave with him.. he ended up hitting a curb, then high siding it.. he was pretyty much ok.. a few scrapes, but she was tore up.. shorts and a halter on, so she was all scraped to hell.. didn't do the hospital though.. turns out, the gir l was the sister of a really good friend (our bar tender) it was strange being in the middle of that when he showed up at our bar a half hour after he did this...

We've also got a friend that rides in the RC we're members of.. she's only been riding about 6 months.. SO.. off she goes to get a v-rod.. :no: she had to have it lowered, and she still couldn't flat foot it.. She pulled up to a bbq we were having, starts wobbling pretty bad, then falls over.... The first time she had taken it out...

I just don't get people that push the limits and don't even try to understand them..

Don't know if you've been watching the news much lately.. but they've really been cracking down on them and all the other bike "gangs" pretty hard.. wonder how long until they are either all locked up, or they quit wearing their colors.. I know probably "never" on the later, but they seem to be trying to clean up their image a little.... I've got a couple friends that ride with them, and they've been trying to keep their noses clean and outta trouble.. A couple had even left the club because they got tired of all the harassment from the LEO's and other enforcement entities..

I can do without, COMPLETELY, these damnable crotch-rockets. Around here every single one (NO EXCEPTIONS) that I see has an idiot on it riding WAY beyond the speed limit, and to make matters worse they are frequently riding on the highways in heavy traffic in pairs doing stunts at speed and getting pissed-off at any reasonable driver that gets in the way of their fun. These machines are purchased for one and only one reason, excessive speed biking.

They should be removed from the road or have a permanent tamper-proof ROM program that limits their road-speed, IMNSHO.

Just for equal time, I feel the same way about NOS-rocket car drivers too.
 
Funny story....sad....but funny!!

I was riding my old 1981 Yamaha Seca 750 through Boonesboro, Md. one day in 2005.
A guy and his girlfriend/wife were riding in the other direction on a sport bike.
As is my custom, I gave him a wave.
Instead of waving back....he pops a wheelie to show off....and dumps his girl off the back of the bike....right onto Alt. US 40!!!
LUCKILY there was no one behind him....or she'd been mashed!!
I pull over quickly....as does he.
There she is lying spread-eagled on the pavement!!
Then she slowly sits up....mind you she's STILL on the road....and starts to CURSE HIM OUT worse than any drunkin sailor on shore-leave!?
I figure if she can sit there and curse the idiot out....she's not hurt too bad (if at all).
As I'm riding away....I look in my mirror....and she's wailing away at him with her helmet!
I was laughing so hard and staring in my mirror....that I almost rode into a ditch!
Ah, to be young & stupid again.....................

I had one of the backwards-cap, baggy-pants-tomato-soup can muffler slammed electric green & primer Jap sedan brigade pass me on a twisty road, double-yellow line...It was the road that goes from our little industrial park to the big hiway, the 4-lane. I thought, "OK, Sonny, let's just see how much **** you have in your neck..." & floored the Mighty Valdez. It don't have a V-10 for nothin', he got around me, of course, but I made him earn it. That was mean & dangerous, but sometimes you can't resist...You never know when you MIGHT run into a psychopathic senior in a bigazz truck w/a V-10....<grin>

Sandy I many times I get this urge! Hoping they will back off. The reason being that when you are getting passed on a blind curve and they get smacked by the on coming semi, that is all going to come back at me and my family. Instead I try to slow down enough to bail out to the right and avoid the splatter.:yes: :yes: What about the person coming around the blind curve from the other way? How would the crazy driver feel if someone they cared about was taken away by someone driving like this? I like the way you kind of even your odds in the event you have a unfortunate situation.:yes: I drive a vehichle a lot of the time that would probably give the old valdez a run for her money in curb weight. About 7,200 lbs curb weight if I'm not mistaken.:D
 
The Mighty Valdez weighs in at a svelte 7500 lbs...Oh, the stupidicas kid in question was never in any real danger, I'd NEVER do something like that, I was just havin' a little mean, evil fun w/him...You DO wish there was a cop around when they start shenanigans like that...But the backwards-cap, baggy trouser brigade are too goddam dumb to ever learn...Scary thing is he & Miss Teen South Carolina-or an equal Mental Giantess- are gonna hook up & have puppies, none of whom will likely have sense enuff to come inside out of the rain...
