If you do buy a wood headshell don't buy a cheap one. Machining tolerances need to be exact.

There is not such thing like best wood. find the sound you are looking for takes time and is not a recipe. wood is excellent in my opinion, but can make some vocals little harsh if the rest of the system is not well compensated (EM, VTA, etc.)

Andre is right. Love my Wooden head shells. Especially the ones he made for me.

Love the Yamamoto HS-3. I actually have 3 or 4 of them!
One of these days I'm going to ask Andre to make me of those ultra-cool minimalist wooden headshells...
