Beryllium mids and tweeters. Quite rare. Very heavy, so shipping usually isn't an option. Some of the best speakers out there. They can be a little bright with the wrong amplification. I think drivers are still available from Yammy as well ($$$).
TVK has a nice blurb about them.

So I bought them for $300 as noted in D&S. Had to do some very minor polarity corrections on the midranges. Now they sound great. And I am glad I bought them.
It's official that these are great speakers. My father never sits and listens to music, but we listened to some music and he loved the sound and center image then he went out to the car to get a CD mastered by his friend. He said "it sounds like the singer is in front of me...these are wonderful speakers". Then on his way out later; "You need to update your amp, they (NS1000) are giving you just what they are getting". The only other speakers to hold his attention for 2 CD's when he's tired were the Jordan JX92S' and some Altec-Lansings years ago that he sold.
My sister hates listening to music seated. I finally got her to take a seat and play her Celine Dion's "Color Of My Love" that she knows so well. I left the room to close a window and she said "What speakers are those coming from?" (I point) "THOSE??? That's amazing! I've never heard anything like it in my life! Wow." I asked here where the voice is coming from and she said "It's not coming from the speakers" then she starts singing.
Now when a woman detects imaging or says it sounds great, there's something right.

Great price, mate. Many for sale in their place of birth, but average is $400. Lots of listening pleasure awaits you. Congrats.
The 1000M's are one pair of speakers I will not part with. I have far too much fun with them to ever let them go :yes:

Congrats. A fantastic find at that price! :thmbsp: I'm still amazed by mine every time I listen to them. With the "right" amp driving them, loud or soft they sound so darn good.
