I just googled the make and model. It took me around the web to an old Audiokarma Dollars and Sense thread Yamaha 3 way speakers. Apparently these are nice sounding speakers. As a newbie audiophile, and as a NS 690 II owner, I have to say Yamaha built the best sounding speakers I've ever owned.

I have a set of NS- A350 a that use with Yamaha AV-33 that sound great. I have only used them together so I don't know how they would match up with other amps or receivers.

If those are the 3-ways that look like this:

Then they are kinda crappy. Sorry (I owned a pair of them). But honestly it's good to know in comparison to what you can do for very cheap if you're hunting Craigslist/ebay pretty consistently. So just keep on the lookout or join bartertown for $25. It'll be the best $25 you can spend if you would like to move to something a tad nicer ;)

I owned that exact same set of speakers! Except they were made by Optimus. They seem to be made by one company, and then they get re-branded by several others. They are fun to play around with, but they aren't that great.
