Yamaha YP-511

Good day! Here's my Yamaha YP-511. In excellent shape, only the dustcover hinges are missing. Any help regarding the hinges would be great! Thanks.

Indeed, that does look in good condition. It is a lovely machine - surely one of the best-looking turntables every made.

I got one in the late 70s but got rid of it in the early 80s when I 'upgraded' to a Rega Planar 3. I've now got another one - here are a couple of photos.





I used a Shure M95ED on it back in the day and this one has an M95EJ fitted.

No, but you probably know that hinges are sometimes not unique to a turntable and can be found as spares for other, more common turntables. I've asked a friend if he knows of any compatible ones.

The YP-511 hinges appear to work on the same principle as the Pioneer PL12D hinges (and perhaps other Pioneer turntables), which are fairly easy to come by (do an eBay search). I guess the question is... would the button/catch fit into the slot on the Yamaha's lid?

The holes in the mounts look very similar to a YP-D6. They should be somewhat easy to find on eBay eventually. I'd download the service manuals for both on VinylEngine and check part numbers.
