Can one tell from the serial number on the back what year a specific speaker was made? AR2a was made from 60-69 I understand.

Well it would be pre 1964 since the 2 AX was introduced that year. I think AR was producing about 30,000 units (15,000 pairs) a year of 2 series throughout the 1960s.

What is the serial numbers of your speakers ?

I recall that AR discontinued the AR-2 when the 2a came out, and then discontinued the 2a when the 2ax was introduced. So if this was the case, 1963 or 64 would have been the end of the 2a. I no longer have my AR brochures from the 60s, so I may be wrong on this. AS mentioned above, someone at Audiokarma surely would know production details on the 2 series.
