I may have to borrow the "Redneck Birdfeeder" concept! I just happen to have a retired plunger. (I would see if the birds would use it for water, though, not food. If I put birdseed in it, the squirrels would be all over it.)

Around my sun`s UV drenched Southern latitudes, that Plumber`s Helper`s cup rubber like substance would start cracking and leaking in a short period of time if was holding water for the birds !

And if prepped with Armor all, or Silicon spray coating to try to lengthen its life, I suspect the birds would probably reject and not like the smell or taste, and may even kill them, if consumed !
