Frickin sweet!

What was the chickenhead for, input level control?

------------

One thing I meant to ask/mention, I believe you guy's used dynakit ST-70 replacement
output trannies, 4300 pl to pl load? If so and running 6L6 may be why UL did not sound
as good as pentode, if that is the case (and you have that extra heater current) might
want to try some EL34, KT77, KT66, KT88 outputs in there as they'll like the lower load.

Humm / balance Thanks Keg, I would have never tried any of this stuff had it not been for you and Douglas. I appreciate all the help, like when you talked me into getting a variac (remember that one).:D

As a matter of fact, I did run some EL34s in them for awhile and they sounded mighty fine. I think these will run just about any tube in the family.

:music:yup-just music. No words like you'd read in an 8 paragraph review in a magazine.Things just sound "right". Still sorting things out,and getting used to these things. They ARE a pleasure to look at,listen to,and think- These little amps aren't doin' anything wrong at all! If anything, this has shown me again some system shortcomings I've been kind of "living with" for a while.Time to take this system up a notch.I do have a hell of a tube bass amp,now I have one hell of a start on what will be the finest setup I've ever had or even thought about till now.Jay,I'd start thanking other AK'ers for all the input....not enough room here and I'd feel bad about leaving somebody out.I'll just say thanks all, for the help on this part of the journey. It sounds damn good from here:D

:music:Sure enjoyin' these things! I ordered a quad of NOS JAN 6L6WGB's today for 'em.Not sure what the general opinion is of these for hi fi-thought I'd get some while the gettin's good, and have them for "everyday".Got a few loaners in them now,and didn't want to put on the hours! I've got a couple other ideas for 6L6's to get. These oughta run for a long time, and I'll have time to keep my eyes peeled for something I want to roll.

I'm glad you like them Terry, what spikkers are you using? I would think those JAN 6L6s will be the last ones you ever buy.

Right now I'm using EV 15" 2-ways. The model # is in my signature.SH-1512"extended range".These have 120deg horns for live music use.I sold my older ones with the same woofers and 60deg horns. I thought the 60's were better for indoor recorded music.I've got a speaker project with drivers I have in the works, but it's kinda run what I got right now.
Jay,I'm still in the market for tubes,I just got these to make sure I had something decent:yes: for power.Still after 5U4GB's and 6SN7's.
bricktop-all pics were at jay's.He set the "shoot"up!:thmbsp:

Jay that is just beautiful man. :thmbsp:

I hope someday i can get enough info on how to do something like this. Got to find the time though....:scratch2:

Terry will you be at the Fest?

I could bring some tubes..
KC:thmbsp: Yup-wouldn't miss it.Can't make the big one, sorry.I think I have a deal on my first set of tubes, though.By June I'll be in the market for something to roll.I've been told I oughta load these up and bring'em- So I'll have the amps there.I have wood crates about half built for them now.
If I'm slow getting back, email notification is down:sigh:

How about next weekend you come up to the spa and pick out some 6SN7s and 5U4s. Just give a shout to make sure I'm home (should be).

How's the schedule at th' toob spa lookin' this weekend?
I picked up an order of acorn 4-40's today.SS,but they buff up well.I'll bring 40 or 50 up to you.Dang, these things are hard to get in any way, shape,or form! Some that came in another order were total garbage:no: OK if looks don't matter, maybe.I'm kinda thinkin' I'd go for chrome #6 unless they just won't fit,and 4's the only choice.
